Install PHP in WindowsThe world of web hosting can be so complicated, especially for those who are not familiar to every single parts in how to host a website. On the contrary, people who are familiar with PHP language, but only have access to a Windows-based web host on a Windows XP-enabled PC should learn that there is an easy way to install the PHP engine on this Windows XP Internet Information Services (IIS) computer. This way, they will be able to run the PHP pages in a Windows host.

Originally, PHP is a programming language that is commonly known as the one implemented on Linux web host. To make it run well in Windows XP web host, here are some simple instructions you can follow.

First comes first, you need to download and extract the PHP installation files to a directory on your computer. Afterward, direct the cursor to “Start” button on the IIS server computer on your Windows display. Later on, click “Run” to open a text box dialog window.

On the box appeared, type “CMD” into the box and click “Enter.” After pressing the “Enter” button, the MS DOS window will soon open. Afterward, continue the step to the next stage by typing particular command prompt written as follows: msiexec.exe/I php-VERSION-win32-install.msi/q.

All you need to do is to replace “Version” with the version number you have downloaded before from the PHP website. When all is done, press “Enter” button once again and the command will automatically run and install the PHP system onto the Windows XP IIS server.

Those steps above are not difficult as long as you learn and understand which part to go to. Now you know simple methods to install PHP on Windows XP IIS. This should be great if you share this information with friends and tell them how easy the steps to follow.
