Make your website to be compatible with any browser is common task, the more specific task is that how to make your site compatible with any screen resolution. It is the basic principle that your site should be designed to suit all screen resolutions including the 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024 or even higher resolution.

Usually, most websites are designed to only fit one resolution it means the one with 800 x 600 of resolution will look a bit empty when it is viewed through 1024 x 768 screen resolutions. If you don’t improve the design any resolution, visitor who comes with different resolution may feel reluctant to visit your page again or even worse he or she will leave immediately and never come back.

Consequently, it is clear that you need to optimize your web design regarding its compatibility with any resolution and the steps below are simple guides to help overcome this situation. The first step is the starting point of overall instructions where you need to determine on your lowest screen resolution.

According to particular research, internet users that use 640 x 480 resolution is only 0.5%. You can move to higher resolution and search information about the users, for example, that use 800 x 600 resolution. If most of your users are using this resolution, you can then set it as your lowest screen resolution. So, you should design the site with the compatibility that is equal with 800 x 600 or higher.

Afterward, after determining the lowest screen resolution for your web design, you should be aware that all graphics included within the site should as well be designed for this resolution. Next, since designing website involves all small details, you should ensure that all tables are calculated in terms of percentages whenever you are converting your design to HTML.

The percentage measurement is essential because it is one factor that helps develop the site to be compatible for all resolutions. Dealing with percentage measurement is better than the pixels because percentage tends to give relative measurement and it plays cool for any resolution.

Last step, which is apparently another vital step, make sure that you create a fixed measurement in all cells except for the content cell. The content cell should be left blank. All in all, by maintaining the resolution compatibility, your website will have larger coverage of users.
